Dr. Murphy is a lifelong Hoosier who emerged from an honest working class family in Richmond, Ind. His parents— a father who worked for the railroad and mother who stayed at home— encouraged him to pursue a world-class education. Recognizing an aptitude for using his hands and an inclination for making one-on-one connections with people, he chose dentistry. He graduated from the Indiana University in Bloomington in 1986 with a degree in Biology, and then graduated from IU Dental School in 1991. Interacting with others and earning the trust of the people who visit Allisonville Family Dentistry is his passion. He strives to create a very warm, welcoming environment for his patients and aims to offer honest answers to questions in easily understood terms. Outside of life at the office, he cheers for the Indiana University Basketball team and enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He and his wife reside in Fishers. They have two daughters who are following in their footsteps by also attending Indiana University.
Vickie has brightened smiles for over three decades including over 20 years alongside Dr. Murphy. She hails from Muncie and graduated from Ralph Eder Vocational school with a certificate in Dental Assisting. Vickie’s favorite time working with Dr. Murphy is hearing a new patient say, “Thanks to Dr. Murphy and his staff, I no longer experience dental anxiety.” Knowing she has alleviated that anxiety makes her job more meaningful. She truly feels her patients are like family. A Kentucky native, she spent her formative years in Muncie, Ind. She enjoys boating, watersports, relaxing, cooking, spending time with family, and entertaining friends at Dale Hollow Lake. In February 2012, she was blessed with the chance to travel to Guatemala for a dental mission trip.
